Meet Mikaela Anderowski: A CCSU Grad Learning AEO and Client Skills at Develomark

Develomark • August 3, 2026

Mikaela Anderowski is from Watertown, Connecticut and recently graduated from Central Connecticut State University, where she double majored in marketing and management. This summer she joined the Develomark cohort program hoping to gain a more interactive, client-facing side of marketing than she experienced in school. In the video below, Michaela shares what she's learned about AEO, client communication, and the projects she's currently working on.

Meet Mikaela Anderowski: From Central Connecticut State to Develomark

Mikaela came to Develomark's cohort program with a double major in marketing and management from Central Connecticut State University. What drew her to the program was the chance to work on the more interactive, client-facing side of marketing, along with the opportunity to learn from everyone on the Develomark team.

Why She Joined Develomark's Cohort Program

Mikaela says she's already learning a great deal about SEO and AEO, subjects she wasn't taught in school. Being more interactive with clients, and with the Develomark team itself, is what she's most excited about, along with the chance to keep learning different areas of marketing she can grow into.

Learning Client Communication and AEO Through Blogs

Since joining the program, Mikaela has gained real client insight and learned how to communicate with a client, which she says is different from talking to a coworker. She's also learned how AEO works in practice and how blogs help bring out the best parts of a website, and she has worked hands-on with blog content across multiple clients.

Favorite Project: Helping Handyman Express Reach More of Connecticut

Mikaela's favorite project so far has been working with Roman from Handyman Express. The cohort held an in-person meeting at his office to learn about his business and about him personally, and used those insights to create content designed to help Handyman Express get reached across more locations throughout Connecticut, something Roman cares about deeply.

Leading Media Planning for Lion's Den and Learning From the Team

Mikaela's next project with the cohort is Lion's Den, where she's in charge of planning the shots and media needed for the website so customers better understand what the business sells. She enjoys that every cohort member plays a different part on that project, working together toward the same goal. Along the way, she's gained hands-on experience with Duda, Claude, and SplashDash, and has learned from teammates across Develomark, including Google Analytics from Amanda and client and content strategy from Ava and Ruan.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Develomark's cohort program?

Develomark's cohort program is a hands-on internship where students work directly with real clients on live AEO, SEO, and content projects. Cohort members like Mikaela Anderowski gain experience through in-person client meetings, blog content creation, and website media planning, rather than practicing on sample assignments in a classroom setting.

  • What is Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)?

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the practice of structuring a business's website and content so AI tools and search engines can find, understand, and recommend that business to potential customers. Blogs play a key role in AEO because they let a business answer the specific questions its customers are already asking.

  • Do cohort members work on real client projects?

Yes. Cohort members work on live client projects rather than sample work. Mikaela Anderowski, for example, helped create content for Handyman Express based on an in-person client meeting, and is now leading media and shot planning for the Lion's Den website.

  • What tools do Develomark cohort members learn to use?

Develomark cohort members get hands-on experience with tools like Duda for website management, Claude for AI-assisted work, SplashDash for customer sentiment reporting, and Google Analytics for tracking website performance, all under the guidance of the existing Develomark team.

  • How can I get client-facing marketing experience like Mikaela?

Students and early-career professionals interested in gaining real client communication, AEO, and content experience can learn more about opportunities with Develomark on the careers page. The cohort program is built around direct client contact, real projects, and mentorship from Develomark's existing team.

If you're a student or recent grad who wants that kind of hands-on marketing experience, we'd love to hear from you. Reach out to Develomark to learn more about current openings and future cohort opportunities.
